BYTESized Productions is the Youth Theatre arm of Albury-Wodonga Theatre and has been developing the creative skills of the youth of the region and beyond by creating high quality musical theatre productions since 2011.
BYTESized Productions is hugely excieted to bring the stage adaptation of one of Disney’s most loved animated movies to Albury-Wodonga, June 20 and 21, 2025.
Based on the 2016 Disney animated movie Moana, about the strong-willed daughter of the chief of a Polynesian village, who is chosen by the ocean itself to reunite a mystical relic with a goddess. When a blight strikes her island, Moana sets sail in search of Maui, a legendary demigod, in the hope of returning the heart of Te Fiti and saving her people. The musical features songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Opetaia Foa’iEmbark on an unforgettable journey across the ocean as Moana Jr. brings Disney’s beloved story to life on stage. This enchanting musical follows Moana, a spirited teenager who sets sail on a daring quest to save her island and discover her true destiny. With the demigod Maui by her side, she faces mythical challenges, learns the importance of heritage, and finds the courage to become a wayfinder.
Featuring captivating performances, vibrant costumes, and show-stopping songs like “How Far I’ll Go” and “You’re Welcome,” Moana Jr. is a celebration of bravery, family, and the magic of Polynesian culture.
In 2024, BYTESized’s NewsiesJr. showcased almost 60 of the region’s talented young actors, singers and dancers in this fabulous musical.
